The Perfect Gift for Mom And Pop

The Perfect Gift for Mom And Pop

The National Retail Federation estimates that $602.1 billion will be spent on holiday shopping in 2013, a 3.9 percent increase from last year. According to NRF’s holiday consumer spending survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, the average holiday shopper will spend $737.95 on gifts, décor, greeting cards and more, two percent less than the $752.24 they actually spent last year.

Even if you plan on trimming your holiday gift giving budget this year, remember that it’s not how much you spend that’s important, but where you spend it. By shifting your holiday shopping to independent, locally owned businesses, you’re helping to give your community a gift this season.

To find and support independent businesses near you, try our local business search, or download the free mobile app.
