To mark the 155th anniversary of the Battle of Mobile Bay, the downtown alliance will stage a reenactment of the epic naval encounter – but this reenactment will use water balloons and super soakers instead of cannons. Thousands of water balloons will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring super soakers and a towel. Dry off after the battle to enjoy the shops and restaurants located on Cathedral Square. More information is available from the Downtown Mobile Alliance.
Happy Half Marathon
August 17, 2019

Rather than competition and challenges, this course is designed for positive results. The half marathon starts at Springfield High School and follows the Miami Valley Scenic Trail to the town of Yellow Springs, Ohio. The route is shaded and has a negative grade, allowing runners to stay comfortable along the way. True to its start, the Happy Half Marathon continues to raise money for a local cancer center.
