Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Every year, local groups and Main Street Delaware come together to raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault – in a way that you’ll never forget. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes invites men, women and children to walk a mile through downtown Delaware wearing women’s heels. Local restaurants and businesses will stay open late to support the event, which starts at 6:30 p.m. With live music, food and children’s activities, it’s a playful event for a good cause. Barracks Row spans five blocks of 8th Street, SE, from Pennsylvania Avenue to the Washington Navy Yard. It encompasses a multitude of diverse restaurants, but on Saturday, May 2, you can try them all in one afternoon. Sample tapas-sized portions from more than 25 restaurants, ranging from American to Belgian to Korean. Tickets are just $20 for a pack of five.
