Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) has presented Do it Best Corp. President and CEO Bob Taylor with its highest individual honor, the Charles G. Berwind Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes Taylor’s philanthropy and leadership within BBBSA and his company’s commitment to the organization over the last 40 years.
Since 2001, Taylor has supported BBBSA in personal and professional capacities. From 2004 to 2010, Taylor served as a director on the national board. Through his work at Do it Best Corp., Taylor has led philanthropy efforts that have raised more than $2.1 million for the organization.
“Bob Taylor is a blend of positive influence and passionate leadership from which Big Brothers Big Sisters has greatly benefited over the years,” said Pam Iorio, President and CEO of BBBSA. “Bob not only contributes to our organization, he lives our mission of mentorship day in and day out.”
Through its mentorship program, BBBSA connects volunteers with children who are facing adversity. Taylor finds this mentorship work rewarding both within BBBSA and within his own company.
“I am both humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award,” Taylor said. “It’s a reflection of the generosity of our Do it Best Corp. vendors over the years and the tremendous volunteer engagement of our team. I’m proud of my involvement with this wonderful organization at both the local and national level for so many years. It has been an incredible experience, and one for which I am most grateful to everyone at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.”
In addition to his work with BBBSA, Taylor is a leader and a mentor in the small business community. He’s been a vocal advocate for the buy local movement and he works to empower his company’s small business owners to find success in their individual communities. Do it Best Corp. works with over 3,800 member-owned small businesses throughout the United States and around the world.
