Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep Supports Future Farmers

Ever since RAM unveiled its iconic “Farmer” commercial at the 2013 Super Bowl, the popular truck brand has launched several new programs to benefit American farmers across the country. Thanks to committed dealerships like Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Athens, Texas, these efforts are making a local impact.

In April, Elder raised $2,000 for local chapters of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) through an event called The Next Crop Project. For each person who test-drove a new RAM truck on the day of the event, Elder donated $20 to the national FFA organization and local chapters. The money raised will further local educational programs for students interested in science and agriculture.

“American farmers keep our communities alive and well,” says Hayden Elder, owner of the dealership. “They feed us, keep us healthy and teach us that hard work can go a long way. It’s important to recognize the work they do and to help the FFA cultivate the next generation of American farmers.”

Elder’s event was oFFA Fundraiser Adne of about 125 test-drive campaigns across the country, but the dealership was able to stand out in a big way. By raising the maximum $2,000 for FFA chapters, Elder’s event won the Athens community a RAM-sponsored concert with country musician Easton Corbin. The concert gave Athens and the local FFA chapters an opportunity to come together to celebrate local farmers.

“It’s reassuring to see the commitment that RAM has made to American farmers,” says Elder. “We are proud to support the FFA locally and nationally through these types of events.”

Elder has served its local Texas communities for more than 30 years as a trusted car dealership. Through a commitment to the FFA and the next generation of American farmers, Elder has taken steps to serve the future of its communities as well.
