In an effort to promote support for local businesses, Independent We Stand and Scott’s Marketplace today announce a national partnership that will encourage support for local businesses across the United States and educate American consumers on the shop-local movement.
Independent We Stand and Scott’s Marketplace are both “shop local”-minded organizations that boast similarly aligned missions with the primary goal to support small, local or otherwise independent businesses in the United States. With a passion to promote the shop local movement, the partnership between Independent We Stand and Scott’s Marketplace will further efforts to support local businesses in communities across the U.S.
“We continuously find that small businesses need resources and community collaboration to operate at their best,” said Bill Brunelle, executive director of Independent We Stand. This partnership with Scott’s Marketplace gives us a unique advantage to further spread the “shop local” movement mission to consumers and to help small business owners nationwide,” he added.
A recent report from the U.S. Small Business Administration finds that 89% of consumers agree that independent businesses have a positive impact on local economies. In fact small businesses account for 75% of all new jobs in communities across the U.S., though stigma can limit consumers from proactively shifting their support to local businesses. Both Independent We Stand and Scott’s Marketplace plan to utilize this partnership to better educate consumers on the benefits of supporting independent businesses and providing more resources to the small business community in the U.S.
“Small businesses are the lifeline of our country,” said Scott Curry CEO of Scott’s Marketplace. “By giving small, local entrepreneurs our support we directly impact the health of our communities. Through this partnership with Independent We Stand, we will further our mission to empower local business owners to enhance their businesses all while striving toward their goals,” he added.
The partnership will include promotional giveaways and educational opportunities across social media, email and other avenues for the two organizations.
