Indie Acts of Kindness Cash Mob Kicks-off Giving Opportunity for Member

This year, we wanted to help our members who have – volunteered their time and/or resources, have donated to causes, or participated in a fundraising event – give back to their communities.

The Indie Acts of Kindness Cash Mob is a quarterly random drawing of a small business featured in our “Indie Acts of Kindness” blog series. One winner, each quarter, will receive $1,000 to donate to the local charity or organization of their choice.

On Monday, April 4, 2016, Kim and Judy Olson, owners of The Mower Shop, received an oversized check for $1,000 to be donated in their name to Make-a-Wish Mid-South. The cash donation benefits the organization’s spring fundraising event and provides an opportunity for the community to help Make-a-Wish Mid-South reach its goal of raising $152,000 to fulfill wishes for 19 children.

To learn more about The Mower Shop, take a look at their winning blog post.

If you’d like to be featured in our “Indie Acts of Kindness” blog series, please email info@independentwestand.org with the business name and a short description about the charity, event, or initiative.
