Danas fine jewelry inc.
I have a jewelry store located in beautiful historic Downtown Newton for 23 years. Owning a business i am always thinking of ways to be involved in the community. We go to the retirement community once a month to drop off and pick up repairs and change watch batteries , because most of there families live out of town. We are doing a food drive for the backpack program of catawba county to help the children to have food on the weekends. We are a full service jewelry store offering jewelry repair , watch repair and custom design. I started a design contest last year for the local high school students , where we had a peoples choice award and a grand prize winner , we took the winners drawings and designed them into jewelry and then sold raffle tickets for the jewelry and donated back to the schools that participated. Also, gave checks to the winners for there college fund. I wanted them to see how taking their drawing and designing into a piece of jewelry, letting them see the outcome and we found out we have a lot of talent in this community, I think the design contest has been my favorite because the students were very involved and it was a hard decision deciding the winner because we had lots of entries. Our children are our future and I love going to the schools for career days , I tell them to find something they love to do and they will never work a day in there life.
