800,000 workers furloughed, including civilian medical staff on U.S. military bases. The end of aid to nine million mothers of small children struggling to feed their families. A wedding canceled and International tourists disappointed. The repercussions of the federal government shutdown this week have been far-reaching and public reactions wide-ranging.
But according to a new survey of small business owners, Congress’s failure to pass legislation to fund the federal government is being met with mixed reactions. While half say the shutdown will have a negative impact on their businesses, nearly as many (four in 10) call the shuttering of the federal government is a good thing for the bottom line.
